We all know that carpool can be frustrating for all involved. Over the years we have developed certain procedures that have helped this process become more safe and efficient. Please read this pamphlet carefully and adhere to our carpool procedures. We thank you in advance for your help and cooperation!!
SAA General Carpool Instructions
· The lane closest to the sidewalk is the only lane for loading and unloading.
· The lane closest to the parking lot is for driving and entering/exiting loading lane. Students may not enter cars in this lane. Please do not ask students to walk across the loading lane.
· Please pull forward as to not leave gaps in the loading/unloading lane.
· Once your child is in your car you may pull into the left lane to exit the parking lot.
· At pick-up, please stay in your vehicle.
Morning Kindergarten
Dropping off your AM Kinder:
· Drop off your child anywhere along the sidewalk in front of the school.
· Students go to the playground until the bell rings at 8:25 where their teacher will pick them up.
· Students are marked tardy after 8:30
· During inclement weather your child will wait in the gym for their teacher.
Picking up your AM Kinder:
· Students will load cars by exiting the Kindergarten doors.
· Tape your child’s colored name tag to the back side of your passenger-side visor. Put your visor down during pick up. This allows us to identify each student’s vehicle and they will be sent out to you. Any relatives or babysitters should also have a similar colored sign with your child’s first name in large print; make extra’s on your own.
· We will send out 3-5 students at a time and wait for those cars to leave. Pull forward as far as possible and we will release the next 3-5 students.
· Please exit the “loading lane” as soon your child is in your car and buckled.
· Pull forward if you need more time to buckle.
- If you would like to pick up your child at the door, please park in the parking lot.

· Send a note when your child is riding home with someone different.
Afternoon Kindergarten
Dropping off your PM Kinder
· Kindergarten doors open at 12:25 and close at 12:30, after which your child will be marked as tardy. On short days doors open at 10:55 and close at 11:00.
· Please keep your child in your vehicle until the doors open.
· If you arrive and the doors are closed, your child will need to get a tardy slip from the office. Please do NOT knock on the doors or windows.
· Parents who wish to walk their child to class need to park in the parking lot and use the crosswalk by the office doors.
Picking up your PM Kinder:
· PM Kinders are usually assigned to the “Green Carpool Zone,” or the zone closest to the Kindergarten doors.
· All kindergarten classes will be released from the Kinder doors at 3:30.
· Older siblings/carpool friends, or parents who walk home will need to come to these doors and ask for their Kindergartner by name. Older students will then be responsible to take Kinders to their carpool zone and watch them there.
· Kinders without older siblings, or carpools, will be escorted out to the green zone at 3:35 with a Kindergarten Teacher until their ride arrives.
- Students with no carpool buddies can be given a sign to tape on their visor until we memorize your vehicle. Please let me know if you would like a sign.
