New Common Core Curriculum

Language Arts Common Core Curriculum standards:
Reading Literature - retell stories with details (setting, character, beginning/middle/end,) recognize different genres, comparing stories, author/illustrator, etc.
Informational Text - identify major events in a story, describe relationship between pictures and the story, ask questions about unknown words, identify reasons author gives to support points in text, identify similarities and differences between two texts, etc.
Reading Foundational Skills - features of print, rhyming, syllables, isolate beginning/middle/end sounds, substitute sounds to make new words, decode words, short and long vowel sounds, high frequency words, et.
Writing Standards - Use combinations of drawing, dictating and writing to compose opinion, informative, and narrative stories.
Speech and Listening - participate in collaborative conversations with partners about kindergarten topics, ask and answer questions, request clarification when something is not understood, describe familiar things in detail, speak audibly and express thoughts, feelings and ideas clearly.
Language - Demonstrate command of the English language when writing or speaking (print upper and lower case letters, use nouns and verbs correctly, understand and use question words/prepositions, and speak in complete sentences. 

Math Common Core Curriculum standards:

Counting and Cardinality - know number names and counting sequence, count to tell the number of objects, and compare numbers.
Operations and Algebraic Thinking - understand addition as putting together and adding to, and understand subtraction as taking apart and taking from.
Number and Operations in Base Ten - Work with numbers 11-19 to gain foundations for place value
Measurement and Data - Describe and compare measurable attributes, classify objects and count the number of objects in categories
Geometry - Identify and describe shapes, analyze, compare, create, and compose shapes
